378. Ikimonogakari – Ryuusei Miracle (Ayakashi Ayashi OP)

Ryuusei Miracle is the opening to the anime Tenpo Ibun Ayakashi Ayashi, and it is by far the most favoured theme song of the fall anime season.

The PV is rather unusual and the meaning or story behind it isn’t clear, or maybe it just doesn’t have one. Either way, it’s pretty obvious that shooting starts have magical powers and are able to come out of people’s fingers. Yes, the video is very odd and the first thing that I thought after watching it was, “What??”. But no, it isn’t strange enough to be classified as “eccentric” (we have YUKI for that). It’s just that, “What?”. (Read More »»»)

370. The world of anime blogging through the eyes of a Loli (so far).

I’m only just realizing it now at how tedious and complicating anime blogging really is; it was never noticeable to me when I was just a reader. Following the posts of the various blogs that I frequented never gave me the chance to think about what goes into each post. All the effort and time people put into it was never apparent. But now that I’m on the other side of the window, I’m seeing things that I wasn’t able to before.

The main thing I noticed was how you have to strive to make your blog different from the others. It needs to be noticed, to be distinguished, and has to have an element of “special.” To do this, there are numerous steps to take. And a person does all this just so it can have readers; because really, our blogs are empty plastic bags floating in the wind aimlessly without the readers.

The method to gaining readers and a reputation in the anime blogging world is a struggle, more so for the newbies than the others. No one wants to get lost in the monotonous sea of Haruhi episode posts and fade into the background. Nobody wants to read the same thing over again. But when you can’t think of anything else, what else is there to fall back on? And isn’t that what anime blogging is about; a bunch of nerds with nothing better to do than to talk about anime?

However now, the basic episode post is no longer on the hot market. This is where things like Commentary and Editorials come into play. (Read More »»»)

Horror is the feeling of dread and anticipation that occurs before something frightening is seen, heard or experienced. Terror is the feeling that follows afterwards.

Numerous accounts of chilling events took place in this episode, which is frankly very surprising. Ghost Hunt has come a long way from the amateur attempts at the Super-natural which was the first arc. Look at them now! They’ve got talking Dolls and everything! (Read More »»»)

Our lives are made up of many vital fundaments that get us to where we are, and where we want to be. However, if you go back and look at them all, you’ll find that they most of them are indeed, meaningless. How do you define “meaningless”, exactly? Does it mean something different to each person? Is our WHOLE life pointless?

~~~
Usually, episodes that don’t follow a type of majour story or reveal a new plot line leave nothing to really discuss and reflect. Maybe that’s the point of creating a show like Hataraki Man… it’s just there to flow and go on… almost like a reality TV show. It’s just there, standing stationary but it’s still enjoyable for some reason.
What I’ve experienced after watching thee (subbed) episodes of this anime is that it doesn’t leave behind a very big impact, but it still has substance; (Read More »»»)
The direction Ghost Hunt has taken after the intro arc is definately the right way to go! More elements of surprise have been added to the mix and the level of creepiness has gone up just a few notches, as the theme of this episode and the ones to come is particularly un-settling. And for those of you who doubted Ghost Hunt’s skill in the beginning, Shame On You!
Our two psychic researchers have intruded upon a house, which is inhabited by three females, upon their plea for help. These ladies claim to be the victims of numerous ghostly encounters! And just like a heard of sheep, Monk-san and Miko-san (of which I cannot remember the names of) stage their appearance into the house soon after Mai and Naru.
Large, old mansions always seem to be the target for ghosts and evil spirits. The “haunted house” is always a gigantic mansion; it’s never a “haunted apartment”, or a “haunted shack”! Prejudice!! (Read More »»»)
342. PUFFY – Hataraku Otoko (Hataraki Man OP)
“Hataraku Otoko” is the OP theme for the anime Hataraki Man, and is equally up-beat and catchy as the ED theme. The duo of PUFFY consists of Onuki Ami and Yoshimura Yumi, who were scouted by two different talent agencies and later put together in 1995. They worked under the name “Puffy AmiYumi” which they’re mostly known by, but I’m assuming they shortened it recently. They also made a move to the U.S. which resulted in an animated show that aires on Cartoon Network and YTV in Canada. The cartoon, “Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi” also got dubbed into Japanese and begun to air on TV Tokyo.
Hataraku Otoko is their latest single and a good come-back aswell, and it proves they haven’t lost their touch of wackiness. (Read More »»»)
335. Nana starring Mika Nakashima – Hitoiro
Hitoiro is the theme song to “NANA 2”, the sequel and the last installment to the movie series, which is based on the gigantic and growing franchise of Ai Yazawa’s NANA. The song is sung by Mika Nakashima, who obviously plays Oosaki Nana. She reprises the role in the sequel, which is great because most of the original actors got replaced. Could you imagine the chaos that would befall on us all if the main character was replaced?
The song along with the PV are unique; they don’t follow the mould that was used in the first movie. (Read More »»»)
